What is the Gift of Love at Christmas Time Project?
A Gift of Love at Christmas Time Project is a ministry that provides a gift to children whose parents are incarcerated in Mobile Metro Jail. The overall goal of this project is to help bridge families by letting the child know that the parent who is incarcerated loves them and is thinking of them at Christmas.
The History of "A Gift of Love"
A Gift of Love at Christmas Time Project was started in 2004. It is the result of a God-Inspired vision of its founder and coordinator, Evangelist Julie James. Unlike other Christmas time projects, A Gift of Love is not a program that is based on financial need. "Sister Julie" recognized the fact that one of the greatest needs that children of incarcerated parents have is to know their parent is thinking of them at Christmas time. With the support of the Mobile County Metro Jail Ministries, the Promises of Life Prison Ministries and Prayer of Faith Outreach Ministries, this project has provided gifts to over 500 children per year since its inception.
